Parisian Punk tells the story of my evolution as a designer through my studies. From Chanel, pearls, and bows I grew into black, leather, and chains. My aesthetic evolution mirrored my vision of fashion, as I started out idealistic, thinking of Paris and couture, but grew to accept the reality of the hard work behind the beauty, as well as the great damage the industry causes to the planet. The collection begins with the soft shapes of ruffles and bows in pink satin to represent the idealized Parisian chic style and transitions to leather, hardware, and mesh evoking the punk aesthetic and values of toughness, hard work, and rebellion that are necessary to achieve the high fashion ideal.
